Maccabi 2010: Baltimore

More pictures here.  More coming soon.

Hello Everyone!

First, I would like to thank all of you for letting me spend the week with your athletes.  You should all be so proud of them.  They are wonderful young adults and they are all great athletes.  They played with heart and rachmanus.

Secondly, I would like to thank my wonderful coach.  Judy did a great job as a coach and chaperone.  Judy was approached by referees and others commenting on how well behaved our athletes were on the field and that it was refreshing to have to deal with athletes with such good manners.  I also received the same comments from coaches, volunteers, and officials regarding our basketball player and table tennis player.  I am so proud that our athletes represent Allentown so well, this is our future and we should all be proud.

Our athletes had a successful week.  The LAX team made it to the medal rounds.  You should be very proud of them, we may have had the youngest team there. We were mixed with LA/Milken, San Diego, and Pittsburgh.  The girls came together so well and really played as if they had been together for a while.   Baltimore only offered a U16 league, our girls were competitive.  Our basketball player came home with the bronze.  Abbey played for the Chicago/Allentown team – they beat Israel for the bronze medal.  Our Table Tennis player came home with a gold and a bronze.  Ben Brenner is a very good table tennis player.  It was interesting watching the game, I did learn some new things.  There is a certain way to serve, there are spins, etc.  If you need to know anything about this sport,  Ben would be happy to share and so would Abbey she also got a lot of information about the sport.

Again, thank you for allowing me to spend the time with your athletes.  It was a great experience for all of us.  I will keep you informed regarding the 2011 Maccabi Experience.

Thank you,

Penny Cron
